Truck Town Thunder Robotics team is an internationally competing robotics team. The team is made up of students and teachers from Brandon High School and Holly High School as well as members of the professional community. Many volunteers work closely with students to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition.
Our mission is to inpire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics skills that inspire innovation, and that foster well rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
The team was founded in 1998 to encourage young people's interests and participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs. Truck Town Thunder participates in accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in STEM, while building self-confidence, knowledge, critical thinking and life skills.
The team has earned many awards over the years including such prestigious title of second in the world at the 2009 FIRST World Championships in Atlanta, Georgia. The team also acheived recognition for being the General Motors Team of The Year and were the Curie Division Champions.
