Truck Town Thunder Fall Successes

The Truck Town Thunder Youth Program has grown tremendously due to the support of our partners and we would like to invite you all to come out and see an excited action packed day of youth robotics. This year, the Truck Town Thunder reach has grown tremendously due to the generous support from all of our partners. Here are some highlights:
  • 90 Brandon School District 2nd and 3rd grade students participated in Jr. FIRST Lego League and the Brandon Expo this year.
  • 50 Brandon School District 4th through 6th Grades students participated in FIRST Lego League with three teams qualifying for the state championships
  • 15 Brandon Middle School students participated in FIRST TECH Challenge including the event this weekend
  • 35 Brandon and Holly High School Students participating in FIRST Robotics Challenge and running the event this weekend.
  • Truck Town Thunder was able to start EIGHT rookie High School FIRST Robotics Challenge teams in Genesee County with the potential to bring robotics too over 400 students.
  • Truck Town Thunder hosted FOUR Innovation Camps in Fenton, Linden, Holly and Brandon this year teaching over 100 students to celebrate Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
  • A Haunted Lodge at Camp Wathana in Holly to spread STEM
  • Mentored 30 Rookie FIRST Tech Challenge Teams at Kettering University
  • and Cooked over 50,000 Turkey Legs at the Michigan Renaissance Festival s
