The Truck Town Thunder Robotics Team attended the FIRST Robotics Waterford District Competition this past weekend. The team entered this year’s competition season strong.

The team advanced to the Quarterfinals and was honored with the Entrepreneurship Award sponsored by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. The Entrepreneurship Award celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit and recognizes a team which has developed a comprehensive business plan in order to define, manage, and achieve team objectives.  This team displays entrepreneurial enthusiasm and the vital business skills to ensure a self-sustaining program.  The team was noted for encouraging students to do individual fundraisers as well as execute a huge team fundraiser cooking turkey legs for the Michigan Renaissance Festival.

The team was also recognized for their safety efforts both on their team and at the competition. The team was recognized for being one of the top three teams with the Hard Hat Safety Award. Truck Town Thunder would like to invite everyone to come out to see them compete at the FIRST Northville District Competition at Northville High School on March 23 and 24. Come out and support your local robotics team in competition!
