Michigan State Championship Success
FIRST Team 68, Truck Town Thunder, traveled to Deltaplex Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan to compete at the FIRST In Michigan State Championship from April 8th to April 11th.
Truck Town truly raised the bar this year, and the team competed with all of its might to seed 11th out of the 102 teams that participated due to the effort shown by team members, the tenacity and helpful endeavors demonstrated by the team’s pit crew and mentors, and the helpful partnership of the team’s partners throughout the years.
During alliance selection, T3 was picked as an alliance partner by Team 2137, TORC, from Oxford High School and both teams agreed on choosing Team 494, Martians, from Goodrich High School to join in their fight through the Playoffs. The newly formed alliance trucked its way through the Octo-finals, but they were eliminated after the conclusion of the quarterfinal matches. Despite being eliminated, making it to the quarterfinals was definitely an astounding feat for the team.
Equally, or maybe even more extraordinary was the presentation of the Regional Chairman’s Award to Team 68, Truck Town Thunder, Team 503, Frog Force, and Team 2137, TORC. Due to the team’s continuous promotion of the ideals of FIRST and the efficiency of their robot, T3 has qualified for the FIRST World Championship that will take place in St. Louis, Missouri from April 21st through April 26th.
