Truck Town Thunder Helps Launch Scary Business Startup

Ortonville, Michigan, July 7, 2015

Team members of FIRST® Team 68, Truck Town Thunder, applied project management and CAD skillsets to help gain Groveland Township approval for Rotten Manor, a scary new haunted house in Holly, MI.

Rotten Manor business owners reached out to the team in August, 2015, and asked for help to create a scaled drawing of the site where Rotten Manor now sits. “It was a great opportunity for the kids to apply what they’ve learned with the team in a real world application”, said Andrew Spiece, team leader of Truck Town Thunder.

In response to the team’s help, the business owners of Rotten Manor have given T3 the opportunity to run the haunted house on October 29, 2015, from 7 PM to 11 PM as a fundraiser for the team’s upcoming robotics season. Truck Town students will have the chance to manage the venue while having a great time, sporting their scariest attire to frighten customers.

Come support your local robotics team, and experience the terror of Southeast Michigan’s newest, highly anticipated haunted attraction!

Rotten Manor is open Fridays and Saturdays from late September through early November. For more information, visit Rotten Manor’s website.
